Rescue Us Because of Your Unfailing Love

We are brought down to the dust;
our bodies cling to the ground.
Rise up and help us;
rescue us because of your unfailing love.

Psalm 44:25-26

The Resurrection of Jesus is essential to Christianity.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived
by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under
Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from
the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand
of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to
judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Some Christians focus on "dying and their soul going to heaven" but forget about their own resurrection of the body.

Jesus was resurrected from the dead on Easter Sunday, but he also is the Resurrection. His resurrection is more than a miraculous event. Jesus' identity is the resurrection and the life (See John 11:35, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die..."). Your body and soul are important to God. Jesus is the Resurrection that leads to your resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come see the place where he lay.
Matthew 28:6
